Entry requirements (South Korea)

Not official advice. Rules can change. Please re-check 1 month and 1 week before departure.

TL;DR (what to do)

  1. Passport: make sure it’s valid for your entire stay.
  2. 3 days before arrival (max): submit the e-Arrival Card online.
  3. K-ETA: currently not required for many visa-free countries (see below), but you can apply optionally.

Visa / length of stay (Norwegian passport)

Norwegian passport holders can enter South Korea without a visa for up to 90 days for short stays.
See the Norwegian government travel advice (link on this page).

Passport validity

For short stays there are no special extra validity-month rules, but your passport must be valid for your whole stay. (If you were entering on a long-term visa, different rules apply.)

K-ETA (electronic travel authorization)

South Korea has extended the temporary K-ETA exemption for the countries that are currently exempt through 31 Dec 2026 (KST).
You can still apply for K-ETA if you want the benefits (e.g., some travelers may be exempt from submitting an arrival card when they have a valid K-ETA).

If you are traveling on a non-Norwegian passport: please check your nationality on the official K-ETA site.

e-Arrival Card (entry declaration)

The e-Arrival Card is an online entry declaration. You can submit it up to 3 days (72 hours) before arrival (KST).
If you don’t enter Korea within 72 hours, you’ll need to submit it again.

What you’ll need

It’s free, and you don’t need to print it.
